First of Many

Good day All,

What a lovely day it is today. God has given us this Sabbath day to honour Him. So, let us glorify His holy Name and take a break from the daily ratrace.

Speaking of which I have retired from a while ago. I reached the point of burnout before I realised it is not worth my physical or mental health. Hard, honest work is what we must do, but we were not designed to constantly run a race.

Running to always be the first, causes so much stress that all perspective is lost. The goal of working to earn a living gets lost in the race. It all get mixed up, the goal shifts to working and winning and the living part gets lost in the process. And I lost my motivation to do anything.

I had to step back a good distance to work out a sensible balance between working, (not running), relaxing, doing normal household stuff, socialising, and, most importantly, spending time with God. These things are all just a part of living and all need to be fitted in to make a good balanced lifestyle. If one is missing, there is an imbalance that creates a gap that cannot be filled with something else.

So, I learned the hard way how to make space for it all and not fret over what I cannot do. I cannot work all the time and live a fulfilled life. I cannot be on top of everything that needs to be done all the tine. And guess what. I find that I work more effectively and getting better results.

My motivation is back, I do what I can as best I can and the rest will have to take care of itself.
